Rough Cut #3

I combined the elements of the first two clips in this one with more energy. The movement of the shots are fast and sparadic. The light motions are suppose to look like they are dancing with each other as I move down the street.

Rough Cut #2

Here in this clip I wanted to use some of the centered light shots I took to graphic match each other through the whole clip. The sound is of the traffic that was near by with minor adjustments.

Rough Cut #1

In this first clip I made it silent so that people looking at it can get a feel for what it is about. I made this trek in a familiar area in the rain.

Production Strategy for Trek 03

In Trek 3 my strategy will be to find a spot that has a lot of traffic and some subtle lights. The place that I have chosen is 51st and Burleigh. I feel this place will be very promising for me. The sounds I want to record are wet slick road and the sound of rain pinging off of metal. I want the image to have distorted light in it to look as if it is dancing to the rain and video of cars moving to create a rhythm for the track.

10 Questions

1. Are there streets with infinte lights?
2. Where can I find a place with great strucural symmetry?
3. Where downtown can I find a lot of blinking lights?
4. How do you splice image with video?
5. Where are the best spots to shoot at night?
6. Where are the best spots to shoot in the day time?
7. Where can I fing a lot of graffiti to shoot?
8. How can I manipulate the image with the camera?
9. Are there any high points I can get to in Milwaukee without getting in trouble?
10. Where are a lot of neon lights?

Trek Assessment #4

Describe your favorite experience, situation, place, or recollection from either of your Treks. Be specific about what happened, how you felt, how you reacted, and why you think this particular experience affected you so much.

My favorite experience on my treks would have to be from trek 3. In trek 3 I got a chance to immerse myself in the cold and experience what it really feels like to do what you love. I enjoyed every minute of trek 3. It was the trek I really got the best images and videos of. This was my crowning moment when I was doing trek 3.

Trek Assessment #3

Describe three surprises or unexpected situations you encountered on your Treks and in the days that followed. The surprise could stem from your expectations that conflicted with "on the ground" realities, cultural or social issues of which you were previously unaware, feelings and reactions that you did not expect to have, appearances and soundings of things you did not expect, good or bad outcomes of "on the spot" decisions you had to make, or the discovery of "deeper" realities in the materials you brought home. (Again, skip anything technology-related!)

One of the most surprising moments was when I was shooting photos and video for Trek 3 and it was raining. The rain made all my shots look like they were popping out at you, because I was distorting the light with the camera to make it look as if it was floating in the air. The other moment would be when the police came up to me and wanted to know what I was doing, when I told them they got interested and stuck around while I took a few shots. Last but not least would be when I dropped the mic in the sewer and recorded sounds of the water draining into the sewer and it sounded like voices.
